Today's Entry: Saint Louis and the Miller Clan

2004-10-31 - 9:54 p.m.

We're back. Saint Louis is a great place for a family get away. We took in the Science Museum, Grant Farm, and the S.L. Art Museum, ice skating, and several different eateries. Kelsey got a good deal of girl quality time with her cousins. The style of play and the content of conversation is so different between young women in that age than it is between the boys. Ken and Roxanne's girls are good kids. The family's hobby is raising and breeding Pasofino horses. All three of the girls ride beautifully. Ken chose that breed because of their Puerto Rican heritage and the remarkably distinctive pace they have. Naturally, since the family enjoys horses so much, we had to make a stop at Grant's Farm and see the Anheuser Busch Clydesdales. Here's Kelsey with Isaiah outside one of the stalls. Isaiah was fascinated by the enormous stallion in the stall behind him. The cousins then fed the baby goats in a frenzy of little paws and wet noses.

We took in the Art Museum just before coming home. The kids enjoyed the arms and armor exhibit the best. Brenda liked the Impressionists, and I was fascinated by the Meso-American masks. But a little art goes a long way when you have young kids. It was great to get home and relax. It's always good to be home.
