Isaiah made friends everywhere. Here's "Poppy" who recounted to Kelsey in her cute english accent how she went "streaming like a leopard on my bicycle through a simply horrid patch of stinging nettles..."

Bodiam Castle was the without question the boys' favorite castle. I don't think they left a square inch of the ruins unexplored.

Isaiah loved the english black-faced sheep. As we drove the van down the English back roads, Isaiah would suddenly start bleating like a sheep at the top of his voice. It was very unnerving for the driver.

The ancient oaks of Sherwood Forest were 200 to 700 years old. Occasionally, one would come across a group of bandits lounging around on old oak branches looking for trouble.

There was one young man who was fond of poaching the King's blackberries at every opportunity. By the end of the day, Isaiah's hands were stained black and his mouth had a distinct ring of juice that as often as not ended up on my shirt. We had a wonderful time bumming all over the English countryside and London for two weeks. It was worth the heart-stopping speed with which the English drivers came tearing around narrow country roads just to see what the rural landscape with its neat hedges and stone walls looked like.
