Today's Entry: Nap 101

It's been an odd week. A pre-med student at SIU has been job-shadowing me this week. Though it's not that unusual to have a student in tow during clinical visits, it is a little strange that she is also a patient of mine and 28 weeks pregnant. She was able - sort of - to run up to labor and delivery with me yesterday. The baby's father was not involved with this pregnancy, so I put some gloves on my student's hands and had her help me out. She was delighted.

Last Sunday our family had gone out for breakfast at a local restaurant where she works as a waitress. She was so impressed with little Isaiah, that she brought him a gift today. Here's a picture of his little SIU Saluki t-shirt. Come to think of it, he may be able to CLEP this class when he gets there!

The Coello's came over tonight for the girls' piano lessons with Kelsey. They stayed aftewards for dinner with us. Isaiah got to see Annelise again. Those two really like each other but fight over everything. During one peaceful moment at the piano, Isaiah was able to serenade his little guest. She was touched and had to turn away, overwhelmed with emotion!

Kelsey played on the floor with Annelise and Isaiah amazingly got just a little jealous. Usually it involves toys, but this is the first time there has been a little possesive streak show up when it comes to his family. At first he sat next to the couch and pouted, but soon couldn't resist getting in on the pile-up action.

Well, better hit the hay. I'm on call tonight, so just about anything could happen at anytime :)
